ROBINSON HEAVY-DUTY RADIAL BLADE FANS
Robinson radial blade (RB) fans are custom engineered and built for rugged service in abrasive airstreams. Robinson radial blade fans are used extensively for efficient forced- and induced-draft service in the metals, chemical, power generation, paper, rock products, glass, resource recovery, incineration and other industries. A wide range of abrasion-resistant materials and liners are available to satisfy particular requirements.
Induced Draft and Forced Draft Service.
- Heat Recovery
- Incineration
- Air Pollution
- Waste-to-Energy
- Boiler Operations
- Fluidized Bed
- Combustion Air
- Process Air
Designed for variable speed applications
Robinson’s RB Series fans are also designed for use with variable-speed motors. The additional design considerations and requirements of such applications are taken into account during fan development and construction.
Research, engineering and testing
Like all Robinson products, RB fans are built with quality materials by skilled, experienced craftsmen for reliability and longevity. This level of quality is a result of ongoing research and testing in Robinson’s own lab facilities. Robinson builds prototype fans and tests them for air performance and sound. Finite element stress analysis and resonant frequency testing are other procedures used regularly to help Robinson engineers “design in” optimum reliability and performance. This, together with extensive field experience, provides Robinson with the information and expertise to engineer fans that satisfy the requirements of individual applications and service conditions.
Performance capabilities and features
Robinson RB fans are engineered to accommodate capacities to one million cfm and pressure ranges through 135 inches static pressure (single stage). Wheels are available in sizes to 180 inches diameter. Units may be custom built with special alloy materials and coatings, and designed to 850° F continuous operation where applicable.
Quality Assurance
Robinson’s experienced quality control department with in-house expertise in nondestructive testing includes:
- Magnetic particle inspection
- Ultrasonic testing
- Dye-penetrant testing
- Radiographic (X-ray) testing
- Vibrational resonance testings and modal analysis
- Dynamic strain gauge testings
- Computer finite element stress analysis
