Case Study 1 – Blade Wear

Problem:

This paper company’s Bark Boiler l.D. Fan was scheduled for installation of new chrome carbide wear pads. When the fan was brought down the first day of the outage, it was discovered that the blades had been worn through to the extent that a reliable fix was not possible.

Solution:

After discussion with plant engineers, the decision was made to have new blades made at Robinson Fans Florida and flown in. The blades were measured, ordered and in our hands for installation in less than twenty-four (24) hours from the order.

Result:

This fan wheel was put back into top shape and ready for another year of maintenance-free operation and the outage maintained its schedule. This was accomplished by the capabilities of our field service group and the fast response of Robinson Fans Florida’s efforts.
